Frequently asked questions

Why does quitting the app cause notifications to stop eventually?
If you force-quit the app (swipe up in the app switcher), iOS may stop delivering notifications until you reopen it. Open the app to resume alerts. Only force-quitting causes this — restarting your phone, installing iOS updates, and leaving the app in the background are all fine.
How often will I get alerts?
It depends on the price level. Around $50k–$100k you'll get an alert every $1,000; around $100k–$200k, every $2,000. Frequency scales with price so the alerts stay meaningful.
What if the price doesn't move for a long time?
During quiet stretches you may go several days without an alert. After a full week with no alerts, the app sends a single “quiet week” heartbeat so you know the service is still running. In a typical month, expect roughly 60–80 alerts (about 2–3 per day), though this varies a lot with volatility — calm months can be under 20, volatile ones over 150.
How reliable are the alerts?
The service is designed to continue operating reliably in the event of a server failure or price feed outage by using multiple (redundant) servers and price feeds, but it is not possible to guarantee 100% uptime or delivery.
Can I customize the alert thresholds?
No. Thresholds are automatic — that's the point. There's nothing to set up.
Why didn't I get a notification?
Ensure notifications are enabled in iOS Settings → Notifications. Alerts trigger on threshold crossings, not continuously.
Why did alerts stop after reinstalling?
Open the app once after reinstalling to refresh the device token.

Privacy Policy

Mount Frost Digital LLC operates the Bitcoin Price Alert iOS app.

We collect an anonymous device identifier and a push notification token, used to deliver push notifications. We don't sell data or use it for advertising.

These identifiers are sent from your device to our servers when you enable notifications. We use Apple to deliver notifications and Amazon Web Services to host our servers. The identifiers are retained for as long as your device is registered, and because they are anonymous, they cannot be linked to you and cannot be individually deleted on request.

The app offers an auto-renewing subscription. Apple handles billing as the merchant of record; we do not see your name, email, address, payment method, or Apple ID. Apple shares purchase history with us so we can grant or revoke access to notifications. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions on our behalf.

If you email us at [email protected], we receive your message and email address. We use Help Scout as our help desk. We may use your message to follow up. To request review or deletion of a previous message, email us.

We do not track users across third-party websites or apps and do not respond to Do Not Track signals.

California residents have rights under the CCPA / CPRA to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. Because the in-app identifiers are anonymous and not linked to you, we cannot identify which records belong to a specific person; for support correspondence and purchase history, contact [email protected] from the email address on file (or with the original Apple transaction details) and we will honor verifiable requests.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.

Bitcoin Price Alert is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
